Many songs and poems have influenced me over the years.
Frank Sinatra is well known for singing many songs. One song is “I did it my way”. This one I use as an antham to justify my individuality, my search for unique path to guide me through this life
For what is a man, what has he got? If not himself then he has naught Not to say the things that he truely feels And not the word of someone who kneels Let the record show I took all the blows and did it my way.
I choose my own path. When I was a Cub Scout, I was the only one who had found the pack and enrolled himself. Everyone else had their parents enrol them.
I wanted to do a A-level in Sociology. The sixth form I was in did not teach Sociology. So I went and enrolled with the local college. The Sociology classes were during my free periods. The college was on the opposite side of the playing fields to my school.
I left Sixth Form after one year and enroled in the February before I would have sat my A-levels, with the Open University. I then did not complete that degree until 25 years later. I did it my way.
