I can only go as far back as my grandparents. My daughter did research on the family tree. I did make notes but the paper is in my pile of notes. I had details of my grandfather’s brothers. Yet it has no signifigance to my life.

My village in Jamaica is named after a plantation. I have read the online slave register for that estate. I checked my surname and it is not in the list of people in the UK compensated for the loss of their slave.

I would like to do the family trees for the ex-slaves and the ex-owners. To see where are they now.

Though it is nice to know where we come from, it is more important to know who you are and where you are going.
